Two Year Consultant Position with the World Bank’s Public Sector Governance Unit22/11/2012
Jointly with other donors, the World Bank’s Public Sector Governance Unit (PRMPS) is launching a multi-donor initiative to expand the coverage of indicators of the “strength” of public management systems (ISPMS). Public sector management systems – i.e., government systems for mobilizing revenues, for planning and executing budgets, for procuring goods and services, for attracting and retaining motivated and able staff, for controlling corruption, or for monitoring and evaluating results – matter crucially for enabling governments to implement policies and delivery services.
The World Bank’s PRMPS Team is looking to recruit an ISPMS Coordinator who will lead the ISPMS Initiative under the supervision of Mr. Vivek Srivastava, Senior Public Sector Management Specialist. The ISPMS Coordinator’s key responsibilities will be both to (i) manage the multi-stakeholder ISPMS Initiative and to (ii) lead the Bank’s technical / analytical work on Indicators of the Strength of Public Management Systems. The ISPMS Coordinator will lead the Secretariat for the ISPMS Initiative, including a small team of staff. The ISPMS Coordinator will be recruited as an Extended Term Consultant for two years, from December 2012 to December 2014 and will be based in Washington, D.C.
